Welcome to Afghan Hindus and Sikhs Digital Library. This website has 707 individual digital content such as news articles, research papers, images, and videos. The content is in English, Dari, Pashto, Punjabi, Hindu, German and Urdu.
Afghan Hindus and Sikhs are a small minority numbered more than 250,000 in early 1970’s living in many of the Afghan provinces. Due to ongoing wars since 1978, their numbers have dwindled to less than 100 individuals living in Afghanistan in March 2023. The diaspora communities can be found in UK, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, USA, Russia, India and other countries.
This online digital library is an attempt to document and preserve their history and culture. You can use the many tools on the home page to retrieve the information stored in this website such as categories, dates, site map or simple search box.

“Kitab Khana” the name of this digital library is the Dari word for “library”.
