NEW DELHI, OCT. 20. As a humanitarian gesture, the External Affairs Ministry has waived visa charges for all Sikh and Hindu Afghan nationals for entry into India, it was officially stated today.
An accelerated process for the issue of visas to such individuals has been put in place, a ministry spokesperson said. Many such persons have been already given visa but there are some who are in Pakistan wishing to come to India.
India has offered wheat, medicines, tents and quilts as part of the humanitarian assistance to Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
