“KitabKhana .org” is a digital library dedicated to Afghan Hindus and Sikhs. The website provides a wide range of information including historical articles, news updates, videos, and research papers focusing on the culture, history, and plight of these communities. The site is an online resource for anyone interested in learning more about Afghan Hindus and Sikhs, their history, challenges, and current situation.
This website has 707 individual digital content such as news articles, research papers, images, and videos. The content is in English, Dari, Pashto, Punjabi, Hindu, German and Urdu.
Afghan Hindus and Sikhs are a small minority numbered more than 250,000 in early 1970’s living in many of the Afghan provinces. Due to ongoing wars since 1978, their numbers have dwindled to less than 100 individuals living in Afghanistan in March 2023. The diaspora communities can be found in UK, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, USA, Russia, India and other countries.
This online digital library is an attempt to document and preserve their history and culture. You can use the many tools on the home page to retrieve the information stored in this website such as categories, dates, site map or simple search box.
